Evidence Based Reporting

Many countries are introducing some form of Biodiversity Net Gain which developers need to comply with and fund the net gain development, either onsite or offsite, for a number of years – up to 30 years.

Site based on-going monitoring can be expensive in contrast to passive audio recording which can be low cost and provide high quality auditable data. While this level of detail may not be a legal requirement yet, with the various reporting frameworks rapidly evolving, such as TNFD, some forward looking organisations are already exploring how to integrate detailed species level data into these frameworks to ensure transparency.
